Associate Attorney – Municipal Law
We are a top‑ranked legal firm seeking an Associate Attorney with strong experience in municipal law. This is a permanent, full‑time position providing an exciting opportunity to work directly with municipalities and government entities.
Base Pay Range $160,000.00/yr – $200,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive legal counsel to municipalities and government entities on a variety of issues including land use, zoning, code enforcement, public contracts, public finance, and more.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documents.
Represent municipalities in litigation, administrative proceedings, and negotiations.
Research and analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored legal solutions.
Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its clients.
Collaborate with a team of attorneys and support staff to ensure the best representation for our clients.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the state bar.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal law, with a strong focus on government, municipalities, code enforcement, and related areas.
Proven experience in representing or advising public entities, including cities, counties, and special districts.
Strong litigation skills with the ability to effectively argue a case.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues in clear, understandable language.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide practical legal solutions.
High ethical standards and professional integrity.
Ability to work independently but also collaborate effectively as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
