FP&A Manager – Operations Business Partner

We’re partnering with a long-standing manufacturing client that’s seeking a

Finance Manager, Operations Business Partner

to support their Phoenix, AZ production site. This is a high-impact role within the FP&A organization, responsible for connecting financial strategy to operational execution across production, labor, and plant performance.

You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to Operations leadership – helping interpret performance metrics, identify process improvements, and bring business acumen and culture-building to one of the company’s key manufacturing sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner directly with Operations, Supply Chain, and FP&A leadership to analyze plant performance and drive financial visibility.

Lead labor and production reporting, including standard vs. actual variance analysis, efficiency metrics, and cost optimization.

Evaluate plant utilization, labor efficiency, and production KPIs to identify performance trends and improvement opportunities.

Support the monthly FP&A cycle — forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and management reporting.

Develop and automate reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, ERP dashboards) to streamline site-level financial insights.

Collaborate with Operations leadership to optimize labor allocation, overhead absorption, and production output.

Provide actionable financial recommendations to improve operational decision-making.

Play an active role in culture integration and process transformation as the organization evolves its plant-level and corporate alignment.

QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of FP&A experience with a focus on operations, manufacturing, or production finance.

Hands‑on experience with labor reporting, production cost analysis, and standard vs. actual costing.

Strong understanding of manufacturing efficiency metrics (yield, throughput, labor productivity, etc.).

Demonstrated ability to partner with plant and operations leadership to drive financial and process improvements.

Advanced Excel skills required; experience with ERP systems and Power BI or similar visualization tools preferred.

Strong analytical and communication skills — able to turn data into clear, actionable insights.

Team‑oriented, proactive, and comfortable in a fast‑paced, evolving manufacturing environment.
