What You’ll Do Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Inspector is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet specified standards and meet customer requirements. This role uses a variety of inspection tools and techniques to identify defects and document results, supporting continuous quality improvement in the manufacturing process.

Technical Job

Assist with performing inspections, validations, and/or verifications of assigned items to ensure compliance and documentation of nonconforming material

Perform inspections of simple GD&T hardware using a variety of common inspection tools which may include various micrometers, bore gages, depth gauges, dial indicators, drop indicators, height gauges, etc.

Use basic GD&T concepts such as Straightness, Flatness, Circularity, Cylindricity, Perpendicularity, and Parallelism as needed

May be asked to perform higher level inspections while under supervision

May trim, sand, and drill parts, using shop equipment

Perform daily/weekly operator maintenance on equipment/tools as needed

Accurately execute Company Process Control (PC) instructions and provide feedback when revisions are needed

Document actions by completing production and quality logs as needed

Accomplish organization goals by actively exploring opportunities to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. (SQDC)

Train others by openly sharing information, knowledge, and expertise with the team

Complete job assignments as directed by Quality or Manufacturing Manager

Attend meetings, trainings, and participate in audits as directed

Safety

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Comply with all company rules including company safety policy and all federal, state, local, and other safety regulations and practices

Use personal protective equipment and devices provided for machinery, equipment, tools and processes, when defined in PCS, Company Safety Policy, Job Safety Analysis or Management direction

Report all unsafe conditions, accidents and injuries immediately to management

Actively participate in 6S and lean activities as outlined by the Company

Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following Company instructions

Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs

Store and maintain tools, equipment and gauges as defined by company standards

Keep work area clean and organized to company standards/expectations

Daily cleaning and sweeping of work area, tools and equipment

Empty trash and waste as needed

Personal items removed from workstations

What You’ll Bring

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required

Minimum 1-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Forklift experience is preferred

Reliable transportation

Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Ability to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to details

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Capable of following directions

Take responsibility for achieving production efficiency, quality of product and reports discrepant material immediately

Demonstrate customer focus by seeking out, understanding, and responding to the needs of both internal and external customers

Maintain a positive attitude and communicate openly and honestly with others

Solve problems proactively and contributes to continuously improving the process/product

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods

Comfortable working in environments with noise, heat, or dust

Regularly required to move, sit, and bend for various hours throughout the day
