About Nourish Pierce County
Nourish Pierce County’s mission is to provide nutritious food and support services to people in need with compassion, dignity and respect. Nourish was incorporated in 1982 and currently has six food bank locations and award-winning mobile food banks that serve fifteen additional sites. Nourish serves more than tens of thousands of individuals each year, with the assistance of hundreds of volunteers. Our goal is to provide each person or family with enough food to make three nutritious meals a day for three days. All Nourish food banks operate on a self-serve model, allowing our guests to select the foods that best meet their family’s needs. Position Development Coordinator
Reports to Chief Development Officer
Status Full Time – Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Salary $65,000 - $70,000 D.O.E
Purpose The Development Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the organization’s fundraising and resource development efforts. This position focuses on grants administration and donor database management, ensuring accurate records, timely reporting, and efficient systems to advance the mission. The Development Coordinator works closely with the CEO, Development Director, Annual Giving Manager, program staff, and finance team to track funding opportunities, maintain compliance, and provide critical data that informs fundraising strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Database & Gift Entry
Manage and maintain the donor database (Bloomerang), ensuring accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality.
Enter donations, pledges, and grant payments promptly and issue acknowledgment letters in a timely manner.
Generate donor and revenue reports for staff, board, and auditors.
Support prospect tracking and donor stewardship activities through database reporting and segmentation.
Gift Reconciliation and Payment Schedule
Meet on a regular basis with finance staff to ensure timely and effective gift and cash received reconciliation.
Ensure that donor intention and classification are correct.
Run monthly reports to update ensure timely receipt of all gift payments due.
Grants Administration
Work closely with the Grants Manager to assist in the research, track, and maintain calendar of grant opportunities, deadlines, and reporting requirements.
Prepare and submit grant applications, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents in collaboration with the Development Director.
Collect program data and financial information needed for proposals and reports.
Maintain an organized system for grant files, including award letters, compliance requirements, and reporting schedules.
Assist with outcome tracking and ensuring timely grant reporting to funders.
Donor Relations
Serve as front line staff for donors, businesses or volunteers with Development inquiries.
Coordinate project support for events, fund drives, or promotions in support of Nourish’s mission and development efforts.
Assist in any coordination of stewardship and communication efforts to Nourish supporters and donors.
Handle all customer service inquiries with diplomacy and respect. Ensure prompt follow-up and complete satisfaction for customers.
General Development Support
Assist with creating fundraising materials, mailings, and donor communications.
Provide administrative support for donor stewardship, events, and campaigns.
Coordinate with finance staff to reconcile donations and grants with accounting records.
Support Development Director in preparing materials for board and committee meetings.
Professional Development
Participate in training, conferences and seminars as appropriate to continue to build competence and expertise in assigned areas.
Attend and fully participate in all staff meetings, retreats and gatherings.
Performs other duties as assigned
Competencies
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field.
At least 2–3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, grant administration, or database management.
Proficiency with donor database systems (plus for Bloomerang experience) and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across teams.
Self-starter, able to work independently, but also function well in a team environment.
Current Washington State driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
Demonstrated experience in working successfully in a customer friendly environment.
Excellent people skills with co-workers, volunteers, community members, and stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a salary range of $65,000 - $70,000 depending on experience. We also offer a generous benefits package including employer-paid Medical, Dental and Vision insurance; a SIMPLE IRA plan with an organizational match of up to 3% of annual salary; paid vacation, sick leave and paid holidays.
