Job Description ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, MAINTENANCE III

LOCATION: Port St. Joe, FL – On Site

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This position supports E-OMS operational objectives which includes interfacing with military and civilian customers to ensure mission success. Primary job function will be operations and maintenance support of the D-3 Radar Systems which are used to support Eglin/Tyndall AFB test missions and to accomplish maintenance and mission support objectives, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of assigned systems/equipment. Additional technical responsibilities may include cross training to operate and maintain ground-to-air radio, line-of-site microwave, telemetry, data, and site communications systems.
General Duties
Receives work assignments from the supervisor.
Primary duties are inspection, maintenance, modification, repair, and operation of mobile and fixed site telemetry collection systems.
Will be subject to cross-utilization in areas such as (but not limited to) ground-to-air radios, microwave communications, and radar systems.
Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits; exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, installing wiring, and tracing relationships in signal flow using complex test instruments.
Will be required to remove, lift, carry, and replace system components up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
Will be required to climb ladders, towers, platforms, etc. to facilitate maintenance and repair of antennas and related electronic or mechanical systems.
Primary work environment is indoors in a climate controlled building, but will be required to work outdoors in cold, heat, dust and high humidity.
Performs other duties such as maintenance of government vehicles, facility and grounds maintenance, work area clean‑up, or administrative duties as required.
Supports company process improvement initiatives. May be required to obtain specialized certifications and training.
Other Duties Observes company quality, safety, environmental, security and administrative policies; supports Process Improvement. Must be able to climb antenna towers with ladders/safety climb devices to heights of 45 to 100 feet, lift 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, have a valid drivers' license. Vehicle operator, safety, supply, housekeeping, plant‑in‑place records, test equipment, and courier will be assigned. Will be required to work overtime and weekends as needed. May be required to handle hazardous material/hazardous waste.
Education/Experience Requirements Must be a technician or service school graduate in electronics and have five years' experience as an Electronics Technician. Must possess a good operational knowledge of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and frequency counters. Must be capable of working with limited supervision.
Other Requirements Candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E‑OMS operational objectives; observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies. Supports Process Improvement.
Work Environment May be required to work under difficult physical and environmental conditions both inside and out.
Physical Demands Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items. Must be able to climb antenna towers with ladders/safety climb devices to heights of 45 to 100 feet, lift 50 pounds, work in confined spaces.
