Location: Traverse City, MI
Base Pay Range $25.00/hr – $33.00/hr
Position Summary As a Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates who create and serve meals to our members, giving them more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in Prepared Foods and Café and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the department meets member expectations.
Responsibilities
Lead the prepared foods department, including café and rotisserie, scheduling rotations across fresh areas.
Communicate department goals, execute company programs, and adhere to policies.
Maintain knowledge of floor and backroom operations, ensuring quality inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance.
Manage seasonality, new products, recipes, and production specifications, prioritizing time across areas.
Collaborate with associates and third parties to ensure resources, knowledge sharing, and training.
Leverage digital tools to plan and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement.
Maintain operational excellence, profitability, cleanliness, staffing levels, audit and compliance standards.
Present merchandise layout and engage with other departments and partners.
Teach and train the team, identify training needs, and develop skills for high‑quality products.
Implement processes and practices, monitor progress, and identify improvement opportunities.
Enforce company policies, procedures, and ethics.
Participate in teams, using resources and information to meet priorities and support timelines.
Promote an inclusive workplace where associates feel supported and connected.
Act with integrity, accountability, and support Walmart's regenerative goals.
Serve customers and members, putting the customer first and balancing short- and long-term priorities.
Strive for excellence, taking calculated risks, continuous improvements, and new technology adoption.
Minimum Qualifications
6 months experience in a fresh production department or supervising a team.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must successfully complete required trainings and assessments within prescribed time.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supervising a team.
Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).

Compensation
Hourly wage range: $25.00 to $33.00.
Premiums may add $0.35 to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
Actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the location.
