Job Summary The Grants and Operations Manager supports the administration of the Center for Public Safety Initiatives (CPSI), managing the CPSI portfolio of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements while maintaining financial integrity, budgeting, and compliance with RIT policies, New York State regulations, and federal laws. The role coordinates grant accounting, provides technical expertise in grant vouchering, fund management, and budgeting, and oversees the efficient operation of the center.
Job Responsibilities
Provides grant‑management technical expertise and support to CPSI staff, attending initiation meetings, reviewing transaction accuracy, analyzing project balances, preparing reports, and resolving account deficits.
Manages grant budget, spending, and operating accounts; oversees grant award vouchering, Add Pay processing, and independent contractor support, in partnership with the Sponsored Programs Accounting office.
Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls; provides independent review of grant‑project account queries using Oracle (or similar) financial systems.
Collaborates with the CPSI Director on day‑to‑day operations, data integrity, and compliance, remaining responsible for departmental operations and student‑affairs reporting for the Criminal Justice department.
Hires, terminates, and evaluates up to eight CPSI student employees, and supervises PT staff assignments related to documentation and grant support.
Oversees all primary CPSI operations—including faculty start‑up funds, revenue and F&A returns, and award coordination—while managing multiple concurrent projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum six (6) years of accounting and/or grant‑management experience, including at least one year of specialized expertise with grant vouchering, Add Pay support, faculty start‑up fund and F&A returns analysis, and budget account review, using Oracle (or similar) and Excel; familiarity with the OFPA GMS NYS system and student‑management experience.
Eligibility to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
Four (4) years of accounting or grant‑management experience and student‑supervision experience.
Additional expertise as outlined in the Required Qualifications.

Salary $45,700 – $76,500
