Night Shift Production Supervisor – Conversion

About The Role We are looking for a Production Supervisor to join the Leadership team at Celgard’s manufacturing facility in Concord, NC. The role reports directly to the Production Manager and oversees a team of Manufacturing Technicians. The position requires 12‑hour shifts from 6 pm to 6 am on a 2‑2‑3 schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all operational aspects of the Conversion area (Deply, Slitting, Testing, Pack‑Out, and Backwinding).
Lead behavior‑based safety initiatives; ensure technicians plan safety into daily routines.
Plan, organize, supervise, and schedule manpower, equipment, and resources within policies and budgets.
Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training of new and transferred employees.
Ensure effective operation of the production process; use key operating indicators to control product cost, material usage, and machine downtime.
Manage employee performance and development.
Identify problems, troubleshoot, and solve issues affecting yield and equipment utilization.
Maintain and analyze shift measures; conduct shift reporting; audit ERP for accuracy and variance.
Ensure consistent, equitable working relationships with all team members.
Utilize company systems to facilitate continuous improvement and lead cross‑functional meetings.
Work with fellow supervisors to provide safety, housekeeping, and quality leadership.
Lead Continuous Improvement efforts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (related field preferred).
3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
Supervisory experience with direct reports.
Experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment preferred.
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Strong math skills and solid mechanical aptitude.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 and lean manufacturing principles and 5S is a plus.
Ability to work a 12‑hour 6 pm‑6 am shift on a 2‑2‑3 schedule.
