We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support our manufacturing operations by accurately processing hourly and salaried payroll. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while working closely with HR, production leadership, and finance. The ideal candidate has experience in a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment with shift work and overtime.
Base pay range $50,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr
Key Responsibilities
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Accurately calculate overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and deductions
Review and audit timekeeping records from production and warehouse teams
Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, union agreements, and company policies
Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, and pay adjustments
Manage payroll taxes, garnishments, and benefit deductions
Reconcile payroll registers and general ledger accounts
Prepare payroll reports for management and auditorsRespond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner
Support year-end payroll activities including W-2 preparation
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related field preferred
3+ years of payroll experience (manufacturing or union environment preferred)
Experience with timekeeping systems and payroll software (ADP, Paychex, UKG, or similar)
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools
Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality
Preferred Skills
Experience with multi-shift or multi-location manufacturing payroll
Familiarity with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs)
Experience with job costing or labor distribution reporting
