Maintenance Manager The
Maintenance Manager
is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring plant reliability, driving continuous improvement, and managing maintenance operations, projects, and budgets. This position actively contributes to the Ohly Leadership Team and fosters a culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Leadership
Actively participate in the Ohly Leadership Team.
Lead, coach, and develop managers and supervisors across all functions.
Partner with colleagues to integrate and operationalize HSE programs and promote a culture of safety and compliance.
Maintenance
Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for the Maintenance department.
Assess team competencies, identify gaps, and implement development plans.
Ensure plant reliability through preventive and corrective maintenance, inventory management, and predictive technologies.
Prioritize resources effectively and report KPIs to local and senior management.
Develop and implement maintenance guidelines, technical tools, and plant documentation.
Collaborate with operations to drive continuous improvement of assets and performance.
Project Management & Budgets
Manage shutdown planning and execution with the Engineering Manager.
Prepare accurate budgets, schedules, scopes, and capital requests.
Oversee project design, execution, and startup safely, on time, and within budget.
Provide input on capital projects and annual maintenance budgets.
Monitor budgets monthly and implement corrective actions as needed.
Procurement
Review and qualify vendors.
Manage parts inventory to minimize downtime and ensure critical spares availability.
Human Resources
Collaborate with HR on hiring, training, and performance reviews.
Provide input into union negotiations and uphold HR policies and employment law.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
10+ years of maintenance experience.
5+ years of experience managing teams and capital projects.
Strong knowledge of reliability best practices and troubleshooting skills.
Proven project management capabilities.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Proficient in computer applications.
Nice to Have
Experience with spray drying processes, dairy processes, and related utilities.
Project Management certifications.
Knowledge of process safety concepts (explosion and fire protection).
Experience with CMMS implementation.
Background in Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
