Description Fleet Equipment Specialist – 2 Positions, Northern Fleet area, Southern Fleet area. The position will be filled at an exempt level 4, 5 or 6 based on the skills and experience of the candidate.
The Fleet Equipment Specialist is responsible for assisting customers with specifications for light duty and mechanized equipment. Coordinate new equipment demonstrations with customers and fleet engineering to gather feedback from customers before purchasing. The responsibilities also include working with garage foremen and technicians to ensure compliance with Fleet policies and procedures, monitoring contract issues, audits of operations, troubleshooting maintenance issues, special projects and improving customer service and relationships.
Experience & Education
High school diploma required
Completion of college level classes a plus
Supervisory experience a plus
Engineering experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technical understanding of all Fleet equipment
General knowledge of the different organizations within GP and Southern Company where Fleet provides a service
In-depth knowledge of GPC Fleet Maintenance Procedures and EAM System
Knowledge of Fleet and GPC accounting principles
Must be able to use computer based diagnostic equipment, navigate OEM websites in addition to Microsoft Office suite of products
Ability to communicate effectively with strong verbal and written skills
Good prioritization skills with the ability to support multiple projects
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Extensive knowledge of preventive maintenance scheduling for utility fleet vehicles and equipment
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a diverse team environment is imperative
Ability to provide superior customer service to internal and external customers
Displays the ability to prioritize work
Demonstrates organizational skills in work processes
Demonstrates ability to communicate technical diagnostic information to all levels
