Quality Inspector

Key Performance Areas Ensure work quality and service standards meet internal and external customer requirements, while verifying parts compliance with product specifications through thorough inspection of manufactured components.
Responsibilities
Accurately input and retrieve data in accordance with all quality requirements, ensuring full compliance with directives, specifications, blueprints, and all applicable quality documentation throughout assessments.
Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, and when necessary, document quantity and weight to confirm conformance.
Develop local work instructions and collaborate with issuers and area managers to ensure timely updates and alignment with current standards.
Follow inspection and statistical sampling procedures to accept or reject materials and adjust inspection levels.
Utilize various measuring instruments and equipment, including PC‑controlled vision systems, to perform dimensional and ocular inspections of parts. This includes blanks (locally produced or sourced from other production units), semi‑finished products, outsourced jobs, and finished inserts to ensure the quality of shipped products.
Maintain gauges, including special and standard fixtures used for inspection.
Set up and verify in‑house fixtures, masters, and minor instruments as needed.
Ensure all equipment is fit for use and functioning properly.
Maintain software and procedures for critical measurements as directed, including Statistical Process Control and proprietary systems.
Apply standard quality control techniques to assess machine and product conformance and variation (e.g., Gage R&R studies).
Conduct in‑process audits at major production steps to prevent or detect potential quality issues early.
Provide timely feedback to production areas based on inspection findings.
Proactively communicate any irregularities, including observed trends or recurring issues in materials, processes, or equipment, to the manager, team leader, or quality engineer.
Profile
HS Diploma/GED required.
2+ years of manufacturing experience required. (1 or more years in quality preferred)
Basic knowledge of electronics and machinery, with the ability to understand basic operation and principles of testing and apply knowledge to new products.
Must be able to read and interpret specifications and part prints.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Shift 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:15 AM).
