We are seeking a highly motivated, relationship-driven Business Development Manager with strong communication, market intelligence, and strategic skills. This role is responsible for generating new project opportunities through networking, client relationship management, and effective collaboration with internal teams.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the commercial construction industry and a proven ability to identify and pursue negotiated or invited bid projects, particularly in hospitality, public entities, and commercial real estate sectors.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including hospitality owners such as Wynn, Boyd, Golden Gaming, Silver Sevens, and other similar clientele
Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, public agencies for best value or CMAR opportunities and assist in the development of RFPs
Identify and pursue new private project opportunities, including negotiated and invited bid projects, within targeted markets like multi-family, retail, restaurant, gaming, and CMAR
Communicate client needs, project opportunities, and market insights effectively across internal teams—Executive Leadership, Estimating, Operations, and Marketing—to align company resources and strategies
Develop a deep understanding of clients’ project types, business goals, and long-term potential to foster sustained growth
Navigate owner bid and proposal processes, advising and guiding internal teams to prepare competitive and compliant submissions
Network regularly with Owner and/or Owner Representatives, Architects, Engineers, and trade partners to gather project intelligence and create new business introductions
Leverage industry memberships and resources such as permit applications and market data to identify emerging opportunities
Participate in strategic planning efforts related to project development and business growth, tracking opportunities for ongoing follow-up
Maintain a high-level knowledge of construction processes and project lifecycles to effectively assess and pursue opportunities
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management within the commercial construction industry
Leveraging and expanding on a well-established network of trusted industry partners across commercial construction
Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and develop new business opportunities
Ability to evaluate project feasibility across financial, regulatory, and market dimensions.
Proven experience conducting due diligence to assess development viability and risk
Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills
Solid understanding of bid/proposal processes and construction project delivery methods
Experience working with hospitality, public sector, or commercial real estate clients required
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making
Active participation or membership in industry associations
Proficient with CRM software and Microsoft Office
Self-motivated, organized, and strategic thinker
Work Environment
Primarily office-based with frequent visits to construction sites, client offices, and industry events
Regular regional travel required, with occasional overnight stays
Must be able to comply with site safety requirements, including wearing PPE
