Operations Research Analyst Air Force Civilian Service – Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) – Kirtland AFB, NM.

Pay Range Base salary:

$89,853.00 /yr – $138,486.00 /yr (locality). Average dollar range approximately $92,668.80 – $115,836.00.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop problem‑solving methods for nuclear‑related issues arising from tests.

Coordinate with multiple System Program Offices, providing survivability analyses, data collection, survey findings, and mitigation strategies.

Support standardization of test plans and reports.

Lead a four‑phase analytical process (problem definition, model development, hypothesis testing & investigation, predictions/explanations) for assigned work.

Contribute to policy and guidance development and future planning.

Organize, analyze, and report on large data sets; perform trend analysis.

Required Knowledge & Skills

Strong background in problem definition, model development, hypothesis testing, and predictions within the four‑phase analytical process.

Experience with nuclear system military standards and governing documents.

Ability to gather, assemble, analyze, and interpret data to support decision‑makers.

Experience working with DoD, academia, and private industry partners.

Strong teamwork, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Critical thinking, risk management, configuration management, and decision analysis skills.

Minimum Requirements

U.S. citizenship.

TS/SCI eligibility.

3‑5 years experience applying the four‑phase analytical process.

Experience in operations research analysis and developmental planning.

Satisfactory security clearance and ability to safeguard classified information.

Drug‑testing compliance (pre‑employment and random testing).

Up to 25% travel.

Academic degrees, professional military education, and certifications required on a 2‑page resume.
