This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V2007.
GG-14 salary with locality included (for the Joint Base San Antonio - Randolph area): $127,624 - $174,426. Recruitment, Relocation & Retention Incentives may be paid.

U.S. Citizenship required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Clearance.
Drug testing: The position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
Employee is required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement.
Job Overview / Responsibilities The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Branch Acquisition Chief, (GG-1101-14), to provide planning, direct, organize, and exercise control over supervisory and non-supervisory program management employees assigned to the HNCX branch located at JBSA-Lackland Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide the acquisition program management support necessary to meet the strategic goals of the Platform One Branch (HNCX). The role is responsible for all acquisition program management and sustainment support to Cyberspace Operations for Combatant Commands, DoD, and other agencies. The Branch Acquisition Chief leads and executes numerous projects providing infrastructure and war-fighting capabilities to the Joint cyber activities, including both unclassified and highly classified acquisition and sustainment efforts.
Recruitment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
The Branch Acquisition Chief must possess a comprehensive mastery of the system acquisition lifecycle—from its legal framework and security protocols to industrial practices—enabling them to manage cutting-edge programs with problems that defy conventional solutions. They must be adept at applying quantitative and qualitative analysis to ensure program efficiency and success, while orchestrating the diverse efforts of functional experts in engineering, contracting, and logistics to implement the program's vision.
The Branch Acquisition Chief must be an expert in directing complex, high-risk programs of national significance, leading the integrated efforts of civilian, military, and contractor teams. This leader is responsible for the full lifecycle execution of the program—ensuring it meets cost, schedule, and performance goals—while shaping the organization's policies and objectives to guarantee mission accomplishment.
The Branch Acquisition Chief provides comprehensive personnel management, guiding employees and overseeing all staffing actions, including selections and promotions, with a commitment to EEO and diversity. They are also charged with establishing clear performance expectations and holding employees accountable, offering regular feedback to develop their teams.
Responsible for leading teams and navigating complex negotiations with management to implement significant, resource-intensive proposals, even when faced with resistance and all aspects of branch management, from strategic planning and prioritizing tasks to interviewing, selecting, and developing employees.
