Job Title
FSQA Supervisor
Location Harrisonburg, VA
Salary $80,000.00 USD Annually – $100,000.00 USD Annually
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive FSQA Supervisor to oversee food safety and quality assurance programs at our manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all products meet regulatory, customer, and company standards for food safety and quality. The FSQA Supervisor will lead a team of technicians and work closely with production, sanitation, and regulatory teams to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise daily FSQA operations including inspections, testing, documentation, and audits.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP, GMP).
Monitor and verify critical control points (CCPs) and preventive controls.
Conduct internal audits and support third-party and regulatory inspections.
Investigate quality and food safety issues, implement corrective actions, and document findings.
Train and coach FSQA technicians and production staff on food safety and quality procedures.
Maintain accurate records of quality checks, lab results, and compliance documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product launches, process changes, and customer requirements.
Assist in the development and maintenance of HACCP plans, SOPs, and quality manuals.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in food safety or quality assurance in a food manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SQF/BRC, and other food safety systems.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with laboratory testing, root cause analysis, and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management systems (QMS or ERP platforms).
HACCP certification and/or PCQI certification preferred.
Working Conditions
Full-time, on-site role in a food production environment.
May require flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, to support production schedules.
Must be able to work in cold, wet, or warm environments typical of food processing facilities.
