About the Role

The Senior Performance Tester position is a hybrid role in Reston VA with the flexibility to work primarily remote. Onsite work is required one or two times each month. The contract runs for six months or longer and offers the chance to support performance testing across enterprise applications. This role suits testers who enjoy hands on work with advanced performance tools and who bring senior level experience with NeoLoad and LoadRunner. You will support performance engineering initiatives and lead migration efforts from LoadRunner to NeoLoad. You will script tests, review performance bottlenecks, partner with development teams, and integrate performance testing into continuous integration and deployment pipelines. Performance Testing Leadership

You will perform hands on performance testing for multiple systems and applications. You will guide testing strategy, script execution, and performance analysis. You will help determine performance requirements, identify risks, and provide insights that support system stability. Tool Migration and Test Automation

A major part of the role involves migrating performance tests from LoadRunner to Tricentis NeoLoad. You will review existing scripts, rebuild test cases, and validate functionality. Experience with automation and scripting is important. You will also integrate NeoLoad into CI or CD pipelines and develop efficient workflows that increase test coverage and reduce manual effort. Monitoring and Analysis

You will use DataDog for monitoring performance under load. If needed, you may also use AppDynamics or Nagios, but DataDog is strongly preferred. Your work will include analyzing test data, identifying bottlenecks, and recommending performance improvements. You will share findings with development teams and stakeholders. Database and System Testing

You will work with one or more relational databases such as DB2, Oracle, MongoDB, or SQL. You will support load and stress testing against systems that rely on these platforms and review performance data tied to query execution and storage behavior. Collaboration and Communication

You will work closely with engineering teams, project managers, and business stakeholders. Strong communication is essential because you will explain performance findings and help decision makers understand the impact of test results. You may also support teams in DMV, West Virginia, or Pennsylvania based on driving distance availability. Required Skills for Senior Performance Tester

Mandatory Technical Skills

LoadRunner Tricentis NeoLoad DataDog monitoring One or more databases: DB2 or Oracle or MongoDB or SQL Experience migrating performance tests from LoadRunner to NeoLoad is strongly preferred. Additional Preferred Skills

Experience with AWS, healthcare insurance systems, or large scale application testing adds value. Strong understanding of performance engineering principles, latency analysis, throughput evaluation, and error rate monitoring is important. Soft Skill Requirements

You must be able to work independently, coordinate across teams, and communicate test results in a clear and actionable way. You should be comfortable adapting to changing priorities and managing performance testing across multiple applications. Work Model

This is a hybrid role with primary remote work. You must be available to go onsite one or two times each month in Reston VA. Candidates in DMV are preferred. West Virginia or Pennsylvania candidates may also apply if they can drive to the office when needed. Interview Process
