Position Summary The BAS Controls Programmer is responsible for developing, configuring, and commissioning Building Automation Systems (BAS) using
Distech Controls
hardware and software platforms. This role involves creating control sequences, programming controllers, integrating third-party systems, supporting field technicians, and ensuring building systems operate efficiently and reliably.
Key Responsibilities Programming & Configuration
Develop, test, and implement BAS programs using
Distech EC-Series controllers ,
EC-Net ,
EC-gfxProgram , and
ECLYPSE
platforms.
Configure BACnet, Modbus, and LON communication networks as required.
Program HVAC equipment including AHUs, VAVs, heat pumps, boilers, chillers, and energy management routines.
Create and customize graphics, dashboards, and user interfaces in
EC-Net/ENTeliweb
or associated front-end systems.
Commissioning & Startup
Perform point‑to‑point checkout, functional testing, and system calibration.
Troubleshoot programming, controls wiring, and network issues.
Support field technicians during installation and startup.
Documentation
Develop and maintain control sequences, as‑built documentation, and programming notes.
Produce O&M documentation and user guides for customers.
Integration
Integrate Distech systems with third‑party equipment (BACnet/IP, BACnet MSTP, Modbus RTU/TCP, etc.).
Work with IT departments to configure networks, routers, switches, and secure BAS connectivity.
Customer & Project Support
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and installers to ensure successful project delivery.
Provide remote and onsite technical support to customers.
Train end‑users on the BAS interface and system operation.
Qualifications Required
2–5+ years of experience with BAS programming (Distech preferred).
Proficiency in
EC-Net ,
EC-gfxProgram ,
Builder ,
ECLYPSE , or similar Distech tools.
Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical sequences, and control logic.
Experience with BACnet and Modbus protocols.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and control sequences.
Preferred
Distech Controls Certifications (ECLYPSE, EC-Net, EC-gfxProgram).
Experience with Niagara-based platforms (Niagara AX/N4).
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, switches, VLANs).
Electrical or mechanical engineering/technology degree or equivalent field experience.
