Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities) Objective: Apply all procedures and techniques necessary to effectively review, draft, amend, negotiate, and securely store contracts. Assist in creating, implementing and maintaining an effective, best-in-practice, Contracts Management function, consistent with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, across Safran Seats' global operations. On a case by case basis, lead or assist with contract negotiations. Providing contacts expertise to global Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement and other teams. This position works independently under the close supervision of Safran Seats USA's Sr. Manager Contracts & Legal Counsel. Depending on assignment, this position may focus on Customer Contracts or Supply Chain Contracts: Customer Contracts Focus: Supports the negotiation, execution, and management of contracts and agreements with external customers, ensuring compliance with Safran policies and alignment with business objectives. Supply Chain Contracts Focus: Supports the negotiation, execution, and management of supplier and procurement agreements, ensuring compliance with Safran requirements and safeguarding the company’s commercial and operational interests.
Main Function Responsibilities
A) Perform risk assessment of contract terms and conditions; developing strategies to minimize potential risks to the business.
B) Work with management, internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers and other third-parties to resolve issues to ensure successful contract execution.
C) Ensure adherence to contract policies, processes, and guidelines necessary to maintain secure contract documentation in the Safran Seats Contracts Database, and, as required, paper files.
D) Advise management of contractual rights and obligations; compile and analyze data; and maintain historical information.
E) Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
A. Education & Qualification - Bachelors required; Law degree and license to practice law in at least one state preferred.
B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge; 4+ years of experience in commercial contracts.
C. Professional Skills - Must have excellent MS Word® skills. Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment. Detail-Oriented with strong skills in commercial contract analysis, drafting and negotiation. Must have the ability to draft language clearly and effectively. Ability to read and review written communication. Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
D. Behavioral Skills - Must be able to work independently serving both internal and external customers, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Integrity, tenacity and being a team player are essential attributes. Must demonstrate stress tolerance, maintaining stable performance under pressure or opposition (such as time pressure, job ambiguity and working extended hours); handling stress in a manner that is acceptable to others and to the organization.
E. Desirable Aspects - Aerospace sector experience; Supply Chain manufacturing contract experience; Manufacturing environment experience; Experience with legal / contractual software and tools.
Travel - International and/or Domestic travel required; less than 10%.
