Job Duties
Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, walk-in cooler.
Receive and process telephone orders.
Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
Clean equipment and facility approx. daily.
Deliver product by car and then to customer door. Deliver flyers and door hangers.
Operate all equipment.
Prepare product.
Requirements
Valid driver’s license with safe driving record meeting company standards.
Access to insured vehicle which can be used for delivery.
Must pass a background check and have open availability.
Training Orientation and training provided on the job.
Communication Skills Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions. Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person. Ability to train and lead.
Essential Functions/Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly.
Must be able to make correct monetary change.
Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers for rapid accurate movements.
Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Ability to maintain cost controls.
Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within designated delivery area.
Work Conditions Exposure to varying and sometimes adverse weather when removing trash and performing other outside tasks; in-store temperatures range from 36°F in cooler to 90°F+ in some areas; sudden changes in temperature; fumes from food odors; exposure to cornmeal dust; cramped quarters including walk-in cooler; hot surfaces/tools up to 500°F or higher; sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Sensing: Talking and hearing on telephone; near and mid-range vision; depth perception; ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
Tempering: Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work along and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments and decisions.
Standing: Most tasks performed from standing position. Walking surfaces include ceramic tile “bricks” with linoleum. Height of work surfaces 36”–48”.
Walking: Walking generally short distances short durations.
Delivery personnel must travel between store and delivery vehicle and from vehicle to customer location.
Sitting: Paperwork normally completed in office at desk or table.
Lifting: Bulk product deliveries weighed up to 50 lbs; cases up to 3'x1.5'; stacked up to 72” high.
Carrying: Large cans 3 lbs 7 oz from workstation to storage; occasional pizza sauce 30 lbs from storage to front; trays of pizza dough 12 lbs each carried 3 at a time over short distances.
During delivery carry pizzas, sides, beverages while walking and climbing duties.
Driving: Deliver pizzas within designated area, may make several deliveries per shift.
Pushing: Move trays on dollies; stack ≈24-30” requiring ~7.5 lbs force; trays may also be pulled.
Climbing: Navigate stairs or ladder to change prices, wash walls, perform maintenance; during delivery may navigate five or more flights of stairs.
Stoop/Bend: Forward bending at waist necessary at pizza assembly station; duration ~40-45 seconds repeatedly; forward bending also at front counter when stocking ingredients.
Crouch/ Squat: Performed occasionally to stock shelves and to clean low areas.
Reaching: Continuous up, down, forward. Reach above 72” occasionally to turn on/off oven controls or lift objects. Reach down to scoop cornmeal from barrel or wash dishes. Reach forward to obtain topping ingredients, clean work surfaces, answer phones.
Hand tasks: Eye-hand coordination essential; use of hands continuous; frequent activities.
