We have a career opportunity for a Manager Meter Services to join our team!
The successful candidate will provide leadership to the Supervisor Meter Services – Meter Reading, Supervisor AMR and Meter Shop and the Supervisor Meter Services – Meter Severance to meet the meter reading needs of the Gas, Thermal, Water, and Wastewater utilities. Monitors and directs all meter reading, meter shop, AMR and meter severance business processes and procedures. Authorizes and implements relevant changes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and sustainable practices. Plans, budgets, and allocates all necessary resources to meter reading, the meter shop, Automated Meter Reading, and the field function of meter severance. Interprets and administers Utility and departmental policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance relating to meter testing, meter reading, and meter severance activities. Incumbent is responsible for the team’s performance through statistical process control, key performance indicators, and provides necessary review and support to successfully provide accurate and timely services for our customers.
Minimum Salary $105,300 Grade 12

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Plan and budget for all necessary resources (personnel, supplies, equipment, etc.) and allocate them to appropriate business functions. Authorize additional manpower and/or employee overtime as well as redirect and reassign manpower to meet meter reading schedule if necessary.
Analyze operating procedures and conditions and authorize changes to improve business processes. Manages and coordinates with IT all process and activities relating to AMR or AMI meter reading and meter shop software and databases.
Conduct cross-functional meetings with partnering business areas (CFS, Dispatch, Gas & Water Engineering and Operations, Procurement, IT, etc.) to address trends and determine appropriate action steps, determine the most feasible, beneficial resolution to internal and external customer concerns and complaints and dedicate necessary resources to achieve it. Resolve customer‑meter reader relations issues beyond the scope of the meter reading staff.
Promote communication, information exchange, problem resolution and employee recognition.
Ensure that AMR, AMI, meter testing, repair, purchase, and/or replacement of gas and water meters occur in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Identify process improvements relating to AMR, AMI, meter reading and meter shop and the field functions of meter severance. Manage processes related to the insourcing and outsourcing of task and activities relating to these activities.
Responsible for collaborating with Manager of Revenue Assurance to ensure the proper resource allocations are achieved, which include review, formulation, and implementation of appropriate tactical and strategic plans and policies for the credit and collection process.
Required Qualifications
Possess and demonstrate strong human relations and leadership skills.
Has a thorough understanding of statistical process control and variation.
Understands the operation and capabilities of automated meter reading systems.
Possess financial analysis and forecasting abilities.
Have working knowledge of Utility PC programs.
Understands Utility success factors, company deliverables, and the organizational structure.
Understands customer satisfaction process and uses it to ensure positive customer relations.
Participates in Utility educational opportunities as well as professional conferences and seminars.
Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline for the position.
Normally 12 years’ experience in Utility.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
A graduate degree, such as an M.B.A.
