Client Development Manager
– Terracon
Terracon is an employee‑owned multidiscipline consulting firm that specializes in environmental, facilities, geotechnical, and materials services. We seek a results‑oriented professional to lead client development for a large office or region.
General Responsibilities
Actively search for new business opportunities for the engineering consulting department, office or division.
Develop and foster long‑term client relationships.
Utilize contacts in professional organizations to network, identify potential clients, and gather intelligence on the firm’s competition.
Generate leads, secure new projects from past, existing and future clients, and prepare marketing materials such as qualification packages, written proposals and other client submittals.
Essential Roles And Responsibilities
Oversee and manage the client development efforts for a large office or region.
Provide leadership within a large office or region, tracking and reporting key marketing information, facilitating strategy meetings, and motivating and training others in client development and major project pursuit.
Manage staff that may include marketing specialists and client development specialists.
Collaborate with management to develop client development plans, budgets and performance goals for the staff and the individual.
Develop competencies in the company’s business intelligence tools to support strategic decision‑making.
Facilitate strategy meetings for client and major project pursuits.
Direct activities, monitor results of subordinate direct reports, and oversee client development reporting for both direct reports and self.
Regularly engage department, office, and regional management to inform them of activities and results, and meet with the supervisor to discuss progress and career advancement.
Work with corporate personnel (national accounts, sectors, marketing) to support company revenue growth goals.
Attend professional organization, government, and technical meetings/events as a Terracon representative, coordinating participation on a regular basis.
Lead safety efforts for the team, ensuring adherence to safety rules and promoting pre‑task planning.
Promote continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects, engaging APRs at project onset.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field and 10 years of related experience; or 14 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification
Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM)
