Trade Compliance Manager

Overview We’re seeking an experienced Trade Compliance Manager (Empowered Official) to lead export and import compliance programs in a regulated aerospace environment. This role ensures compliance with ITAR, EAR, Customs, FTR, and CUI requirements while partnering closely with executive leadership, engineering, and global trade partners.
Key Responsibilities
Lead division-wide export/import compliance programs
Act as Empowered Official approving licenses, TAAs, and MLAs
Manage export licensing with DDTC, BIS, Commerce, and State
Oversee CTPAT and secure government programs (CUI)
Partner with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams
Conduct compliance training and lead investigations
Advise executive leadership on compliance risks and status
Required Qualifications
7+ years of trade compliance experience
5+ years of hands‑on ITAR & EAR export licensing
Strong experience with TAAs, MLAs, and export licenses
Knowledge of Customs, tariff codes, Importer of Record, and FTR
Experience working with executive leadership
Knowledge of CUI and secure data requirements
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree (Business or related)
CECP certification, JD, or MBA
Experience with DECCS, SNAP‑R, and ACE
Engineering background (nice to have)
