Title Warranty Project Manager – New Generation Systems (NGS)
Role Overview The NGS Warranty Project Manager oversees the end‑to‑end warranty claim process for assigned NGS projects and serves as the central point of contact for all warranty claims against Mitsubishi Power Americas equipment supplied under the contract. The role requires management experience, a broad understanding of supplied equipment, and the ability to coordinate the review, assessment, commercial response, and close‑out of warranty claims. Responsibilities include internal and external communication, timely resolution, cost recovery, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure safety protocols, conditions, and practices comply with business, local Occupational Health and Safety regulations, legislation, and company policies.
Develop safety plans with the warranty outage manager and LTSA team for a safety‑first mindset.
Act as the commercial and management focal point for all NGS warranty claims under the contract.
Work within established processes and procedures to maintain high quality.
Interact professionally with customers, co‑workers, contractors, and suppliers in all situations.
Lead the team in commercially dispositioning claims based on contract terms, conditions, and investigative findings.
Collaborate with Finance to develop and implement a corporate warranty account, pooling financial resources across projects and forecasting future contribution needs.
Apply a multitasked, analytical approach to problem‑solving warranty claims with strong attention to detail.
Develop a warranty claim database to track and report progress on reviews, investigations, mitigation efforts, and outcomes.
Travel as needed to gain customer insights and establish lessons learned.
Capture return of experience and best practices to improve future projects.
Manage the warranty claim process to achieve business and project goals, coordinating engineering, supply chain, installation, and testing activities for equipment supplied by MHI stakeholders.
Prepare consolidated monthly warranty reports and contribute to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reviews in line with business needs.
Participate in project risk and opportunity reviews.
Ensure warranty claim cost management and recovery are handled transparently and timely.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field and five (5+) years of related experience, or ten (10+) years of experience in an EPC environment with planning/scheduling of power generation, industrial, or EPC projects, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Communication and Other Skills
Communicate effectively with staff and management at all levels; collaborate with business management teams to develop implementation strategies for warranty claims.
Write reports, business correspondence, and procedural instructions.
Present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
Build relationships with clients, suppliers, and contractors, with fluency in English and Spanish for LATAM/MX projects.
Travel away from the home office, including domestic and international travel up to 20% of the work year.
Maintain a valid passport and driver’s license.
Work primarily from the headquarters in Lake Mary, FL, with a minimum of three office days per week unless traveling to customer sites.
Possess strong commercial knowledge for assessing business risks and opportunities to undertake negotiations.
