Terros Health is pleased to share an exciting and challenging opportunity for a DCS Stabilization Specialist, Full-Time.

The DCS Stabilization Specialist will assist foster care families and qualified residential treatment program (QRTP) providers to reduce the number of crises that may jeopardize a child's placement. Full‑Time 40 hours

Shift: Monday - Friday 9:30 am‑6:00 pm

Canyon State Academy and East Valley Community

Required: GED/High school diploma with a minimum of 1.5 years of behavioral health experience

Bilingual in Spanish is a PLUS (Additional Language Differential is Available)

Responsibilities include completing weekly planned interventions, attending CFTs as scheduled, and responding to crisis calls aimed to support individuals in DCS custody at risk of disruption. Staff will assist with developing individual service plans, emergency contact sheets, and at‑risk crisis plans. Staff utilize person‑centered planning; positive behavior support and Love and Logic parenting techniques. Crisis Stabilization staff will complete a written assessment and document all coordination of care services.

Upon receiving a new referral, staff contact the placement within 24 hours and the DCS Case Manager within 48 hours.

Actively fosters positive relationships with key stakeholders including families, DCS, RBHA, QSPs, and others, evidenced by attending meetings and events when required.

Meet with foster care families and GHs as necessary to develop rapport, trust, and understanding of particular family dynamics.

Works collaboratively with the Child and Family Team to develop crisis prevention plans.

Provides support, education, and recommendations to foster care families and QRTPs to help them understand possible causes of crises and what approaches would be helpful to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

Qualifications

GED/High school diploma with a minimum of 1.5 years of behavioral health experience, or an associate’s degree in the behavioral health field, or

Bachelor’s degree in the field of behavioral health or a bachelor’s degree (not in the field of behavioral health) and one (1) year of behavioral health experience.

Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license, be 21 years of age with a minimum of 4 years driving experience, and meet the requirements of Terros Health’s driving policy.

Must have or be able to attain CPR/First Aid certification within 60 days of assuming the role.

Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming the role.

Must pass background check, TB test, and other pre‑employment screening.
