Overview Terros Health is pleased to share an exciting and challenging opportunity for a D Stabilization Specialist, Full‑Time. The DCS Stabilization Specialist assists foster care families and qualified residential treatment program (QRTP) to reduce the number of crises that may jeopardize a child’s placement. The ideal individual will be innovative, enjoy a high level of interaction with others, and be a focused, resourceful individual with a high level of integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Complete weekly planned interventions, attend CFTs as scheduled and respond to crisis calls aimed to support individuals in DCS custody at risk of disruption, and support their families and caregivers.
Assist with developing individual service plans, emergency contact sheet and at risk crisis plans.
Use person‑centered planning; positive behavior support and Love and Logic parenting techniques. Complete a written assessment and document all coordination of care services.
On receiving a new referral, contact the placement within 24 hours and the DCS case manager within 48 hours.
Actively foster positive relationships with key stakeholders including families, DCS, RBHA, QSPs and others as evidenced by attending meetings and other events when required.
Meet with foster care families and GHs as necessary to develop rapport, trust and understanding of particular family dynamics.
Work collaboratively with the Child and Family Team to develop crisis prevention plans.
Provide support, education and recommendations to foster care families and QRTPs to help them understand the possible causes of crises and approaches that would be helpful to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Qualifications
GED or high school diploma with a minimum of 1.5 years of behavioral health experience.
Bilingual in Spanish is a PLUS (additional language differential available).
