This role will support Stop & Shop Districts 327 & 334. The purpose of this position is to drive the mission of reducing and mitigating injury, illness and regulatory risks in supermarkets. This position is responsible and accountable for executing and maintaining, oversight and delivery of safety systems and improvements that positively impact and improve loss exposures. The Safety Specialist provides subject matter expertise in health and safety risks. Responsibilities
Direct aspects of safety programs, including but not limited to leading long-term safety and regulatory compliance initiatives. Conduct on-going problem-solving based on objective assessment of the facts or circumstances while using collaborative work methods to achieve consensus. Advise leadership and business partners regarding safety risks and controls. Integrate essential aspects of injury prevention and compliance into the execution of company strategy so associates know their role and responsibilities and are held accountable for their behaviors. Partner with business areas to identify the best equipment, process, workflow, work environment and facility decisions which impact associate and customer safety. Create and utilize performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of operating systems and environmental health and safety programs. Maintain effective communication within the organization to align with organizational priorities and desired results. Ensure associates are adequately prepared and trained to safely perform their jobs and ensure related operating systems are in place. Provide and facilitate training courses to business partners and store teams. Conduct Safety assessments in stores and coach associates through corrective actions. Requirements
Bachelor's degree. 3-5 years' safety or operations experience (preferably retail). Self-starter with ability to propose ideas and solutions. Skills and Abilities

IL/MA/MD/NY $72,880 - $109,320 Actual compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on their unique qualifications and experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Final compensation decisions will be made in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
