About the Role This Senior Accountant role supports a manufacturing operation within a highly regulated industry and is
heavily focused on cost accounting and production-related financial activity . The position plays a key role in inventory accounting, manufacturing variance analysis, and operational financial support.
This role works closely with executive leadership and on-site operations to provide accurate financial insight that supports day-to-day manufacturing activity and long‑term decision-making.
This is an on‑site position due to close collaboration with production and operations teams.
Core Responsibilities
Lead cost accounting activities
including inventory valuation, standard costing, WIP, and manufacturing variance analysis
Partner with operations and supply chain teams to support production reporting and cost visibility
Maintain and analyze inventory transactions within the ERP system; serve as a financial resource to the manufacturing floor
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Maintain general ledger accuracy and perform balance sheet reconciliations
Support audits, internal controls, and compliance requirements within a regulated manufacturing environment
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Support federal, state, and local tax reporting and filings as required
Qualifications & Skills
Hands‑on cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
(inventory, variances, and production‑related accounting required)
Prior experience supporting a manufacturing floor or production operation ( not purely corporate or public accounting )
Experience working with manufacturing ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar)
Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets and financial data analysis tools
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data to leadership
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
At least 3 years of accounting experience supporting manufacturing operations
Aerospace or other regulated manufacturing experience is a plus
Work Environment & Physical Requirements Regular use of computers and phones; walking, talking, and use of hands throughout the day. Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds may be required.
