Registered Nurse RN Ambulatory Urology FT - West Bloomfield
Location:
West Bloomfield Hospital. Occasional travel to other urology clinics if needed.
Hours:
Full Time - 40 hours/week. 8 hour days approximately 8am - 4:50pm. No weekends/holidays.
General Responsibilities:
Rooming patients, patient assessments, vitals, catheter changes, point of care urinalysis, scans, injections, assisting with various procedures, patient education, etc.
Candidate Preferences:
Minimum of 1 year inpatient or ambulatory RN experience. Willing to work with male and female anatomy. Prior Urology or OR experience is helpful.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates with the health care team. Demonstrates clinical competence. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator when appropriate.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's Degree preferred. Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation. Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel. Preferred experience in the specialty. Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy. Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard, i.e., Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
