Postdoctoral Fellow - Neurosurgery - Research
A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the department of Neurosurgery under the mentorship of Joseph McCarty, PhD. The position focuses on basic and translational research related to brain tumor cell biology and mouse models of primary and metastatic brain cancer, with particular emphasis on the brain microenvironment, including studies of how tumor cells interact with the neurovascular unit and blood‑brain barrier.
Base Pay Range $64,000.00/yr – $76,000.00/yr
Responsibilities All duties are carried out in compliance with institutional policies, ethical research standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
Learning Objectives The postdoc will receive training and mentoring in the use of mouse models and in vitro culture systems to study cell adhesion and signaling pathways involved in tumor cell–stromal cell interactions. Biochemical, molecular, genetic, and cell biological techniques will also be emphasized.
Eligibility Requirements
PhD and/or MD
Peer‑reviewed publications or manuscripts under review in internationally recognized journals
Strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology
