Reporting to the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Counselor will assist in the development and implementation of data‑informed recruitment and outreach plans to meet enrollment targets for the assigned caseload of graduate programs within the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS).

This position may require working weekends and evenings, as well as local and regional travel.

Essential Functions

Develops and implements a recruiting and outreach plan for graduate programs within the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) designed for the working professional.

Identifies target markets and recruiting opportunities in coordination with the department chairs, graduate program directors, and GSAS Marketing and Recruiting Specialist.

Coordinates with Enrollment Services and program directors to keep Slate application forms current.

Creates and manages a communication plan from inquiry to enrollment.

Processes and reviews applications through the online application system Slate.

Creates and distributes reports within Slate to assist program directors with applicant/prospective applicant data.

Processes the GSAS Dean’s application decisions and mediates admissions issues.

Coordinates and attends graduate admissions fairs and events.

Manages awarding of merit aid to prospective students with the GSAS Business and Planning Officer.

Management Responsibilities Guides work of other employees who perform essentially the same work and/or student workers. Organizes, sets priorities, schedules and reviews work, but is generally not responsible for final decisions in hiring, performance management or compensation.

Additional Functions Trains department chairs and program directors on the Slate system.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree.

Minimum of one year of university admissions experience.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Proficiency in online CRM and application systems, preferably Slate.

Independent, proactive approach to responsibilities, planning, and project management.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent judgment, diplomacy, and discretion are necessary in handling confidential and/or sensitive materials.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree.

Admissions experience serving graduate degree programs at the doctoral, master’s, and certificate levels.

Minimum Starting Salary $65,000

Maximum Starting Salary $71,000

Note Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and skills.
