Position Highlights The University of Arizona invites nominations and applications for the position of Dean of the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy. This is a pivotal opportunity for a visionary and collaborative leader to guide one of the nation’s premier pharmacy schools into its next era of excellence and impact. The next Dean will be charged with articulating a bold and compelling vision for the College of Pharmacy's future, strengthening academic programs, fostering a vibrant intellectual life and scholarly productivity, enhancing academic excellence, and expanding external partnerships. The Dean is responsible for managing and coordinating the college, implementing its plans, programs, services, and scholarly and research endeavors, and collaborating with fellow Deans across the university to leverage opportunities afforded by the college to support the growth and quality of research and education within the health sciences and beyond. The Dean is expected to provide visionary leadership to advance the college's education, research, and service missions, promote excellence among faculty, staff, and students, oversee the college's operations, research portfolio, and finance and human resources functions, and play a critical role in fundraising, advocacy, and alumni relations.

Duties & Responsibilities
The Dean will be a leader in defining the future of the college, advance its place among the top pharmacy schools, embrace the changing landscape, and use new strategies and innovations.
Working with leadership, faculty, and staff, the Dean will assess current processes and programs, build a culture of trust, transparency, and consistency, promote a collaborative and inclusive community, and recruit empowered leaders and faculty.
The Dean will assess the financial status, develop an understanding of the budget model, cultivate relationships with donors, and collaborate with development to advance financial opportunities.
The Dean will articulate a vision for future pharmacy, be responsive to student needs, advocate for resources, leverage technology, and promote interprofessional education and practice partnerships.
The Dean will grow the research portfolio focusing on AI and data science applications in biomedicine, strengthen collaborations across campuses and clinical partners, and support expansion of research efforts.
The Dean will enhance visibility of the college internally and externally, develop relationships with healthcare partners, and promote the quality and impact of programs, faculty, and staff.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Track record of excellent academic accomplishments and national recognition.
Administrative leadership experience with personnel management, budgeting, grant management, and donor relationships.
Ability to coordinate advancement across pharmacy education, practice, biomedical research, and community engagement.
Extensive executive and operational experience in a complex academic organization.
Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, highly productive organizational culture.
Record of building productive relationships with key stakeholders.
Excellent track record of academic accomplishment in administrative, scholarly, educational, and clinical endeavors.
Vision to develop innovative programs integrating strengths within the college and university.
Ability to recruit and retain outstanding faculty and staff.
Track record of careful stewardship of institutional resources.
Experience implementing interprofessional education and practice activities.
Demonstrated facilitation and support for the success of all personnel through talent development.
Ability to build partnerships and raise funds from donors.
Minimum Qualifications
Earned doctorate in a pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences discipline (or a complementary discipline).
Record of distinguished scholarly research, teaching, and professional accomplishments; appointment as a full professor with tenure preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership experience in an academic pharmacy setting, successful in fostering a collaborative culture, fundraising, strategic and financial planning, management, and community engagement.
