Baylor Scott & White Temple is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join our Level One Medical ICU Department. The position is full‑time day shift (7 a.m.–7 p.m., 36 hours per week) based at Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital, a 636‑bed specialty teaching hospital and a Magnet‑designated Level 1 trauma center.
The ICU is a 23‑bed unit that cares for patients with a range of acute and chronic illnesses using advanced technology. We provide a relocation bonus, structured career‑progression plans, educator support, multidisciplinary rounds, and an internal training progression plan.

Job Summary As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Ensure patient travel is secure and respond to changing patient needs. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
Essential Functions
Conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs; create, implement, and evaluate care plans; adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
Build therapeutic relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism with patients and families.
Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members; empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices.
Delegate tasks carefully, follow up promptly, and collaborate with colleagues and community to create effective care plans.
Apply problem‑solving strategies with patients, families, and staff while prioritizing safety and effectiveness.
Work with a team to achieve goals, recognize contributions, and commit to growth and community service.
Key Success Factors
Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, and hospital procedures.
Proficiency in medical terminology, disease prevention, and medication management.
Respect for medical ethics and patient privacy rights.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Positive social skills for diverse interactions.
Advanced problem‑solving and critical thinking.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, scheduling, payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited RN program.
Specialized field of study in nursing.
Current RN license.
BLS certification or obtained within 30 days.
Minimum one year ICU RN experience.
