Senior Accountant
Location: Manhasset, NY, hybrid 4 days onsite
Salary: $110,000-130,000
About the Role We are seeking a Senior Accountant to support our clients Assistant Financial Controller and play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing expenditures, and ensuring efficient, compliant accounting operations. This position offers hands‑on exposure to Oracle and provides the opportunity to influence process improvements and cost‑efficiency initiatives across the organization.
Responsibilities
Perform daily general ledger activities to support timely and accurate financial reporting.
Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and respond to bank inquiries.
Support month‑end close, including preparation of journal entries, expense accruals, account analyses, and reconciliations.
Reconcile and analyze multiple general ledger accounts with appropriate documentation and support.
Manage indirect tax compliance across the U.S., Canada, and several European jurisdictions—including analysis, preparation, and filing of tax returns.
Conduct general cost accounting; compare actual expenses to budgets; forecast, analyze, and reconcile costs related to processes, labor, and inventory.
Identify and recommend cost‑reduction or profit‑enhancement opportunities.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and maintain cost-efficient practices across accounting processes.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
7+ years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Experience with auditing or public accounting is a plus.
Strong problem‑solving skills, a proactive mindset, and ability to manage complexity and collaborate effectively.
Experience with Oracle or other enterprise financial systems preferred.
