Job Description The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The Staff Nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost‑effective care.
Responsibilities
Manage and provide care to patients and their families.
Direct and supervise nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team.
Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate, and evaluate nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.
Participate in patient care and supportive services directed toward achieving positive outcomes, maximizing patient involvement, and reducing length of hospitalization.
Collaborate with attending physicians to deliver optimal care in a team‑centered environment.
Qualifications
Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program.
Current Ohio license or interim permit.
Minimum 2‑Year College Degree with a major in nursing.
Additional Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and experience is desired.
Experience in relevant care setting preferred.
Additional Information 11 East Doan is a 27‑bed acute care unit that specializes in patients with medical issues ranging from acutely ill to long‑term illness and disease management. The unit is staff‑driven through the Unit Leadership Committee and Evidence‑Based Practice. The team is passionate about staff development and advancement.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
