Overview
Local Contract Histology Technologist – $48‑53 per hour, 13‑week contract, day or evening shifts in Detroit with transition to full‑time employment. Responsibilities
Cut, embed, stain, coverlip, and label surgical, autopsy, research, and neuropathology tissue using standardized procedures. Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment required for analysis. Perform special stains under supervision according to standardized procedures. Maintain all equipment, reagents, and supplies, including solutions and fixedates. Record and maintain QC, CAP, QA instrument function, and maintenance records. Adhere to Standard Work for all job duties and report deviations for correction. Participate in data collection and quality improvement efforts. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry, or related field, or Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, medical laboratory sciences, or related field. 3+ years of experience as a Histology Technologist or equivalent laboratory position. HT or HTL certification preferred. Vision near acuity, depth perception, accommodation, and color vision required for job functions. High school diploma or GED with two years of relevant laboratory experience acceptable if completed coursework verified by a NACES‑approved credential evaluation service. Benefits
