ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
Location: Cranberry Township, PA
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in-office per week)
SUMMARY This role presents a unique opportunity to help build and scale a modern accounting function during a period of growth, operational change, and increased financial complexity.
This position offers high visibility within the Finance organization and exposure to senior leadership. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the evolution of an independent accounting infrastructure as the business transitions from legacy systems and services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the preparation and review of internal and external financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Own the month-end and year-end close processes, including consolidations, reconciliations, and variance analysis
Oversee general ledger operations and day-to-day accounting activities
Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to protect financial integrity and company assets
Partner with FP&A to support annual budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning
Analyze financial performance versus budget and forecast; communicate insights and trends to leadership
Lead the standup of an independent accounting function, including planning and execution of a transition from shared or outsourced services
Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors; manage audits and address findings
Develop, document, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and controls
Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency gains, and process improvements
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team
Collaborate cross-functionally with other stakeholders on strategic initiatives
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
CPA or CMA strongly preferred
10–15 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience in a complex or growing environment
Strong technical accounting and financial reporting expertise (U.S. GAAP)
Experience with ERP systems; involvement in system implementations or upgrades is a plus
Proven ability to lead teams through change, transformation, or scale
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Effective communicator with the ability to influence across functions and levels
Continuous‑improvement mindset with a history of process optimization
