About the Client Our client is a global company seeking an Accounting Specialist critical in maintaining the integrity of its general ledger and providing reliable data to support the monthly financial close for their HK entity. The role requires experience, preferably in E-commerce and working with international entities (Australia, NZ, USA, HK).
About the Role The Accounting Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all daily financial transactions related to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Bank Reconciliation. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and proactive communication within a 100% online, digitally connected global team.
Work hours: 8am - 5pm or 9am - 6pm PH time Monday - Friday
Work set-up: Remote
What you’ll do
Accounts Payable (AP):
Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and authorization prior to entry into Xero.
Reconcile purchase orders to vendor invoices to confirm accuracy.
Prepare and execute weekly payment runs (EFTs, checks, etc.) and issue bank remittance notices to vendors.
Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies promptly.
General Ledger & Reconciliation:
Perform daily and weekly reconciliation of bank accounts and payment channels (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, etc.) against the General Ledger (Xero).
Prepare routine, simple journal entries (e.g., reclasses, adjustments) under the guidance of the Senior Accountant.
Maintain organized digital records and documentation for all transactional activities.
Compliance & Support:
Assist the Finance Manager with preparing supporting documentation for quarterly tax filings (e.g., Sales Tax, VAT).
Participate in efforts to streamline and improve daily operational efficiency within the finance workflow.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of work experience in a similar transactional accounting role (AP, AR, or Bookkeeping).
Minimum 1+ years of hands‑on experience with Xero and advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets.
Preferred experience with e-commerce platforms like Shopify and inventory management systems like Cin7.
Experience in E-commerce is a strong plus.
Preferred experience working with entities in Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and/or USA.
Strong technology skills and comfort operating in a 100% online, digitally connected global team.
Exceptional attention to detail and a "can‑do" attitude, with a proactive approach to communication.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and efficiently manage daily tasks.
Willingness to learn, explore, and suggest improvements to current finance processes.
