About the Position TravelNurseSource is partnering with Fusion Medical Staffing to hire a Telemetry RN for a 13‑week assignment in Kalamazoo, Michigan (ZIP 49048). The role focuses on continuous cardiac monitoring and assessment in an acute care telemetry unit.
Job Details As a member of the team, you will monitor telemetry data, administer cardiac‑focused medications, assist with procedures, provide patient education, and collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues—all while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and dedicated support.
Required Qualifications
One year of recent experience as a Telemetry RN
Current, valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
Current ACLS Certification
Preferred Qualifications
Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
NIHSS certification
Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Summary of Responsibilities
Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, focusing on cardiac care
Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations
Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of the patient’s cardiac status and response to interventions
Responds to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies
Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients
Initiates patient education plans according to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications
Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients
Maintains confidentiality of patients and client
Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Physical abilities – able to remain stationary, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, bend
Interpersonal skills – work effectively with a variety of personnel, display a positive attitude and professionalism
Technical/motor skills – fine manipulation, assistance with procedures and equipment handling
Mental requirements – coping with frequent contact with the public, meeting deadlines under pressure, working under close supervision or independently, handling irregular activity schedules
Sensory – visual acuity and effective communication
