Diet Clerk Associate – Lexington Medical Center
This role is part of the Nutrition Services team and is responsible for communicating modified diet guidelines, ensuring accurate diet orders, and partnering with patient care staff to provide individualized meal selections. It serves as a liaison between patients and the Nutrition Services Department.
Responsibilities
Communicate modified diet guidelines to patients and staff.
Assist patients in making accurate and acceptable food selections.
Act as liaison between patients and the Nutrition Services Department to ensure individualized meal selections.
Maintain accurate patient diet information in electronic record systems.
Communicate food production needs for patients to Nutrition Services production staff.
Provide courtesy, compassion and respect; adhere to Service Excellence Policy.
Respond to all customers / patient requests and needs.
Work independently and meet deadline‑driven daily schedule.
Demonstrate organizational skills and complete work independently using established deadlines.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
1 year of past customer service experience.
Knowledge of modified diets or ability to demonstrate proficiency after in‑house training.
Knowledge of Cbord and/or Epic systems.
Medical terminology training or experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including conflict resolution.
Superior customer service skills for telephone communication.
Basic mathematical competency for measurements.
Proficient computer skills and intermediate level Windows‑based application navigation.
Good problem‑solving and judgment abilities.
