Job Description Purpose and Scope:
Under the general supervision of the Manager of HUB Counseling & Wellness Services, the Clinician I provides clinical and outreach services to support the mental health and overall wellness of LSC students, faculty, and staff. Works in a highly collaborative environment that values teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability. Delivers direct clinical services, including individual, group (personal and career), couples counseling; psychoeducation; assessments; triage; case management; crisis intervention; and referrals. May provide crisis and emergency response during after-hours, as well as deliver after-hours clinical services, workshops, and outreach to the college community. Plays a vital role in campus-wide mental health initiatives and may be called upon to respond during campus emergencies. Moderate travel between LSC locations is required. Works a flexible schedule to provide after-hours clinical services and crisis coverage.
Essential Job Functions
Provides direct clinical services as needed, including individual and group counseling (personal and career), psychoeducation, assessments, triage, case management, crisis intervention, and referrals.
Contributes to and supports campus-wide mental health and wellness initiatives and delivers outreach, training, and wellness programs for faculty, staff, students, and the broader community.
Utilizes the electronic health record (EHR) system and other LSC platforms to chart, manage referrals and document student progress.
May provide clinical supervision to graduate-level interns from academic mental health or health service programs, and offer peer consultation to staff or trainees.
Supports students during the appointment check-in process, including monitoring and managing check-in systems.
Consults with campus stakeholders on student mental health concerns and behavioral interventions.
Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings to support and guide treatment objectives.
Responds to campus crises, including occasional after-hours outreach and intervention.
Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Able to work evenings and/or weekends for outreach events and for rare after-hours emergency coverage as needed.
Ability to provide individual, couples, and group psychotherapy.
Ability to provide intake assessment, risk assessment, and crisis intervention.
Ability to provide supervision and training of clinical staff.
Ability to provide presentations and workshops.
Ability to serve/contribute to university committees and activities.
Knowledge of developmental issues of college students and of collegiate mental health issues.
Knowledge of and sensitivity to multicultural concerns.
Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
Availability evenings and/or weekends for outreach events and for rare after-hours emergency coverage.
Physical Abilities The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Schedule And Conditions
Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment.
Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree.
LPC-A, LMSW, LMFT-A, or LP-A w/o independent practice, or.
Proof of passing the National Board Exams at the clinical level.
Preferred Qualifications
LPC, LCSW, LPA-I, or LMFT.
Salary Hiring salary range is from $54,528 to $62,707.
