Purpose and Scope The Clinician I provides clinical and outreach services to support the mental health and overall wellness of LSC students, faculty, and staff. The role performs direct clinical services—including individual, group (personal and career), couples counseling, psychoeducation, assessments, triage, case management, crisis intervention, and referrals—while also participating in campus-wide mental health initiatives and responding to emergencies. A flexible schedule is required to deliver after‑hours clinical services, crisis coverage, workshops, and outreach.

Essential Job Functions

Provide direct clinical services (individual and group counseling, psychoeducation, assessments, triage, case management, crisis intervention, and referrals).

Contribute to campus-wide mental health and wellness initiatives, delivering outreach, training, and wellness programs.

Use the electronic health record (EHR) system and other LSC platforms for charting, managing referrals, and documenting student progress.

Provide graduate‑level internship supervision and peer consultation to staff or trainees.

Support students during appointment check‑in, including system monitoring.

Consult with campus stakeholders on student mental health concerns and behavioral interventions.

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to guide treatment objectives.

Respond to campus crises, including occasional after‑hours outreach and intervention.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Availability evenings and/or weekends for outreach events and rare after‑hours coverage.

Proficiency in individual, couples, and group psychotherapy.

Ability to conduct intake assessment, risk assessment, and crisis intervention.

Capability to provide supervision and training of clinical staff.

Skill in delivering presentations and workshops.

Ability to serve on university committees and activities.

Knowledge of developmental issues among college students and collegiate mental health concerns.

Sensitivity to multicultural contexts.

Awareness of applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.

Physical Abilities The role is predominantly sedentary, with occasional walking, standing, bending, and light carrying. No special physical demands are required.

Work Schedule and Conditions

Equipment: PC workstation in a Windows environment, calculator, phone, and general office supplies.

Interaction: Internal and external contacts as needed.

Environment: Climate‑controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.

Required Qualifications

Master’s degree.

LPC‑A, LMSW, LMFT‑A, or LP‑A without independent practice.

Proof of passing the National Board Exams at the clinical level.

Preferred Qualifications

LPC, LCSW, LPA‑I, or LMFT.

Salary The hiring salary range is $54,528 to $62,707, with placement determined by related experience and education.
