About Us:

The Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) is a trauma informed care agency focused on implementing our core values and providing support to people with developmental disabilities. We oversee a statewide system of supportive services that focus on ensuring the health and safety, supporting access to community participation, and increasing opportunities for meaningful employment. The Gallipolis Developmental Center is located along the Ohio River within the historic city of Gallipolis. We provide off-campus work/habilitative activities provided during the day. In addition, we also have an Activity Center on-ground for habilitation, recreation, work-readiness and therapeutic training for individuals choosing those activities. We also provide a full array of health services, as well.

Job Description Plans, evaluates & implements regular, special & modified diets to ensure compliance with state & federal regulations, treatment plans & accreditation standards.

Completes nutrition assessments of clients (e.g., reviews medical chart, interviews direct care staff, interviews patient regarding likes, dislikes, allergies &/or chewing or digestion problems).

Maintains dietary & nutrition records, reports & progress notes (e.g., patient charting, census sheets, daily/monthly/quarterly reports, treatment plans).

Plans &/or conducts in-service training programs pertaining to nutrition for clients & staff & attends various meetings (e.g., treatment team meetings, internal facility committee).

Qualifications Current licensure as dietitian as issued by Ohio Board of Dietetics per Section 4759.06 of Revised Code. If employed at Ohio Veterans' Home, must also have 1 year supervisory experience in dietetic service of health care institution & participate annually in continuing dietetic education.

Supplemental Information

$27.83 per hour with the first increase in 180 days to $29.12.

Effective July 2025 that would increase to $29.08 per hour with the first increase in 180 days to $30.43 per the current 1199 bargaining unit contract

Annual increases each year with an additional longevity supplement after 5 years of service
