Position Summary: This Market position is responsible for ensuring that Meadowview Regional Medical Center and Fleming County Hospital are in compliance with TJC, state, and federal standards. The position has oversight responsibility for all regulatory body surveys, i.e., TJC, State Licensing Review, and CMS Validation surveys. This includes staying current with TJC standards, educating facility staff about TJC standards, and preparing the facility for TJC accreditation surveys. The position is responsible for planning and implementing the performance improvement program. This position will oversee the organization's comprehensive insurance and risk management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the organization.

Essential Functions:

Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.

Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.

Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.

Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.

Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.

Regular and reliable attendance.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position serves both internal co-workers and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.

Access to and/or works with sensitive and/or confidential information.

Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance (e.g., HIPAA). Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality standard. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and administering corrective action for staff.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.

Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.

Required Skills:

Requiring critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required 30 days from hire date.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Preferred.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred.

Required Licenses: Kentucky, United States. Registered Nurse must have Valid Kentucky RN License OR compact state.

Skills and Abilities:

Moderate Computer Skills – Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.

Varied Business Problems – Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedent and practices.

Functional Independent Judgement – Provides and sets goals and priorities for functional area. May make recommendations for department policies, practices, and programs. Makes decisions for and/or resolves problems for others.

Project Planning/Organization – Handle multiple projects simultaneously including task delegation, project oversight, and resource allocation.
