Van Buren County Hospital is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to support providers in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in an outpatient clinic setting. This role supports increased patient encounters by assisting with clinical workflows, patient assessments, procedures, and coordination of care in accordance with provider orders and nursing standards of practice.
Key Responsibilities
Room patients and perform clinical intake including vital signs, medication reconciliation, and patient history documentation
Assist physicians and mid-level providers with examinations and procedures
Perform clinical nursing duties within RN scope of practice, including injections, wound care, catheterizations, and patient education
Communicate patient information accurately and timely through verbal communication and electronic medical record documentation
Triage patient phone calls and coordinate care, referrals, testing, and follow-up as directed
Perform routine and CLIA-waived testing, phlebotomy, specimen processing, and quality control as assigned
Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies in a clean, organized, and ready state
Support quality assurance activities and comply with clinic policies, safety standards, and infection control practices
Collaborate effectively with providers, clinic staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient patient flow
Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Iowa
Mandatory Reporter Certification
One to three years of clinical nursing experience preferred
Additional Information This position works in an outpatient clinic environment
