The Mission of Helping Hands is to provide HOPE and CARE through personal, trauma-informed programs to individuals experiencing homelessness.
Our programs are Trauma-Informed, Data-Driven, and Person-Centered.
We take the time to learn each individual's story and help connect them to the appropriate local resources and services to meet their unique needs. We do not duplicate available services; instead, we build strong collaborative partnerships with local programs and foster connections between participants and our community partners.
Position Summary The
Maintenance Technician
is responsible for the repair and upkeep of the Bybee Lakes HOPE Center, a 155,000 square foot building. This full-time role has a varying schedule that may include an occasional evening and/or weekend, with a starting wage of $18.90 per hour. Benefits include PTO, medical/dental/vision/401k.
Qualifications
Basic construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, and roofing
1+ years of Commercial/Industrial Building Maintenance Preferred
Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing general maintenance issues
Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records and scheduling maintenance
Physical strength and dexterity to frequently lift, move and handle equipment, 50+ lbs
Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking
Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues
Ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions
Organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Direct or Lived Experience with homelessness, addiction, and/or low-income populations.
Understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic violence, and/or sexual assault
