We are currently looking for a Pipeline Safety Supervisor for our Houston, TX or Owensboro, KY office.
Position Description This position is responsible for supervising the technical support to Operations and Engineering & Construction for both new and existing facilities to ensure safe and compliant operation within BWP. This position represents the company in a professional capacity. This position is responsible for oversight of engineering analyses, support, and calculations related to the following activities:
49 CFR 192 and 195 Pressure Testing calculations and approvals
Researching and writing Special Permits; These could involve class changes, retroactive class changes, and other instances where BWP seeks deviation from 49 CFR 192 and 195 regulations
49 CFR 192 and 195 MAOP and MOP confirmation and calculations
49 CFR 192 and 195 Auditing completed compliance documentation
TVC review of pipeline documentation
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Ability to read, understand, and apply directions, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations
Excellent problem solving and written and verbal communication skills
Well organized with a high degree of initiative
Must have the ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal direct supervision
Strong computer applications skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Must be willing and able to travel (15% of time) and work in a variety of environments, including pipeline rights‑of‑way and manufacturing facilities
Ability to teach others about complex technical issues
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Pressure testing knowledge and test approval experience
Experience with inspections by industry regulators
Ability to present to all levels of leadership
Previous supervisory role
Required Education
BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited University
Preferred Education
Masters Degree and / or P.E.
