Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a NC or compact license, with strong trauma and behavioral health experience.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Emergency Department of a large hospital setting with 101 beds
Typical patient ratio is 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
Staffed with techs, cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing, triage, and unit clerks on all shifts
Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors
Documentation system is Cerner
Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, every other weekend required
No floating outside the Emergency Department but must be open to floating within any ER section
Responsibilities include providing care for medical and behavioral health patients
Unit values teamwork and provides a supportive, multicultural work environment
High volume department recognized for strong collaboration and diversity
Navy scrubs required for dress code
Attendance policy provided on first day
No block scheduling available; schedule must meet department needs
Requirements
Active NC or compact RN license required
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an ER setting
Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits annually) required
Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS required before start date; ENPC must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Teamwork mentality and strong coaching and feedback skills required
Ability to work in all areas of the ED
