Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a CT Technologist - Outpatient Radiology - Great Neck. In this role, the successful candidate operates Computed Tomography equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images. The candidate performs procedures according to established standards and practices without constant technical supervision.

Job Responsibilities

Operates CT imaging equipment to produce quality images as ordered according to department protocols and for interpretation by the radiologist.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Instructs and supervises radiography students in clinical practicum, works with students in completing exams, and performs QA image review with students.

Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies while abiding by WUH infection control policy and procedure. Maintains a proper environment of care and initiates standard precautions when required.

Accurately utilizes the Radiology Information Systems, verifies proper exam completion, correct amount of contrast (if used), and proper code attachment. Arrives and completes procedures in a timely fashion.

Properly and timely utilizes the PACs system to allow for radiologist interpretation, ensuring all images are transferred to PACs promptly.

Practices effective radiation protection using appropriate shielding devices when possible, monitors exposure, and follows department policy regarding pregnant patients.

Prepares patients for exam, including patient preparation, positioning/immobilization, and instructions throughout.

Minimum Qualifications

Technical Diploma or graduate of AMA approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services.

New York State Radiologic Technologist License.

American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) advanced certification in CT required within one (1) year of hire or transfer.

New York State Department of Health IV Contrast Injection Certification (Part 89-Section 89.40) required within one (1) year of hire or transfer.

1‑2 years of experience in radiologic technology.

Strong written and oral communication, problem‑solving, and customer‑service skills.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a radiology program or related health field.

1‑2 years of experience in CT.

Thorough knowledge of CT equipment.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state law on salary transparency in job advertisements. The salary range for this role is $112,758.65 - $124,556.45 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
