Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated MRI Technologist, Full‑Time, to operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment in the outpatient radiology department located in Garden City. Under the direction of a Radiologist, the technician will produce high‑quality diagnostic images and perform procedures in accordance with established safety standards and clinical protocols.
Job Responsibilities
Accurately utilize the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) to make images available for interpretation with minimal exceptions.
Enter proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and complete exams in a timely manner.
Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies; report equipment problems or malfunctions to supervision promptly.
Instruct and supervise radiography students in clinical practice, performing exams and individual image evaluation as needed.
Operate MRI equipment to acquire diagnostic images of specified body areas as ordered.
Prepare, position, and immobilize patients appropriately, providing clear instructions before each exam.
Ensure image quality meets departmental SOP guidelines and practice safety protocols regarding patient and employee safety when within the magnetic field.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications • Technical Diploma from an AMA‑approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services.
• New York State Radiologic Technologist License or Temporary Permit.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Strong written and oral communication, problem‑solving, and customer‑service skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in a radiology or related health field.
• 1–2 years of MRI technologist or related training experience.
Qualified candidates must effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
